Submit program to antivirus companies

Post by speedyorange »

I have been submitting the full version of my program to the antivirus companies to combat 'false positives'. I have been using the page located here to guide me:

http://www.softwareprotection.info/2011 ... -to-solve/

I have some questions about some of the submit procedures on that page.

Commtouch: It says that I should include the 'SDK version and definition file used' in the email. What does that mean? I don't have this antivirus and I got the false positive from virustotal.com

Esafe: The given url for submitting to esafe will redirect to a different domain name and the only form listed on that page is 'Request information form':
http://www.aladdin.com/forms/send-email/form.aspx

K7AntiVirus: I get a false positive from them and there is no listing on your page on how to submit to them

McAfee-GW-Edition: I get a false positive from both this and McAfee. I submitted to McAfee, but no procedure for submitting to McAfee-GW-Edition was listed. Am I safe to assume that submitting to McAfee will fix both, because they use the same database?

This means you have to include the version of Enigma Protector that was used for protection of this file.

Yes, seems this form does not work. I have a private contact for reporting, trying to get some public contact for it. Will update the blog when will get results.

Yes, there is no any information, same I did not find something about FP on their site. Will try to contact them by email.

Yes, submitting to one will solve the problem for both versions.
