I saw that enigma creates some entrys with the name enigma protector in the windows registration database.
It may be not a security risk, but i do not unserstand why you don't just create a random name insted of the packers name?
I guess that would let people feel much more comportable (me included).
Thanks
Enigma value in reg
Re: Enigma value in reg
Such keys are being create only in some cases, for example, if you use trial settings, or somehow expired keys.
Anyway, there is a general rule that always works. If cracker can't determine the kind/name of protection by just look inside the file, such cracker will never break the protection. Advanced crackers may tell you the name of protection without even executing the file, and without analyzing of the registry keys it is creating.
So, to my mind, this is not a thing you may worry.

Yeah i know that it may not be a risk but i still don't like it^^
What settings this are exactly?
I dont have any trial or registration stuff enabled but it still creates those keys.
Thanks
