I tried to digitally sign the boxed executable, but it failed. Signing the unboxed executable is no issue, but signing a boxed exe wont work.

Can you please send us signed non boxed and signed unboxed files for tests at vbox@enigmaprotector.com?

Digital sign does not (should not) effect on a boxed applications. There is no file control sum check in Enigma Virtual Box.

The problem is, the tools used to sign the executable are crashing when trying to sign a boxed executable.

Ahh :)

Maybe this is a problem of the signing tool?

What tool you are using, who is the provider? I will try to contact them.

Various tools, so for example x2net signcode. I can sign any program with it, be it compressed, encrypted, whatever, just not when the progeam is "boxed". It will just crash when trying to sign the boxed application.

Unfortunately, you have to contact to the developers of this tool and ask to solve the problem.

This problem is not related to Enigma Virtual Box.

Famous signing tools like VeriSign and Comodo are working well the boxed files.

Hi, I'm also facing the same issue. We are evaluating two products. 1) BoxedApp Packer 2) Enigma
If we create packed exe using BoxedApp then we can able to digitally sign the exe. But exe packed with Enigma can't be signed. For a quick testing, I tried to open the packed exe of BoxedApp with 7-zip and it can able to open it whereas the exe packed with Enigma is not able to open. I think the signtool not able to store the certificate information on the exe packed with Enigma. I want the developer of this software should give a test drive on BoxedApp. I don't know the Enigma is using ther own library for creating the packed exe or using the BoxedApp SDK.

Hi bensam56,

Enigma Virtual Box does not relate to the product you noticed, and both are using different core.

Are you using standard version of signtool.exe provided by MS?

Hi, Thanks for your reply. Well, yes I'm using the signtool from Windows Kits. Any recommendations?
BTW, I also tried the Enigma protector trial version and the output generated packed exe is not running on Windows 8 but works on Windows 7 and other older operating systems. In Windows 8, the output exe is not running if I select virtual box option. Our app is based on .NET WPF. Any idea?
