I am getting the same HWID on multiple computers when using EP_RegistrationHardwareID.
Is there something that I am doing wrong?
Same HWID on multiple computers
Re: Same HWID on multiple computers
Hi, the duplicates of Hardware ID could exist.
The question is how often do you get such duplicate hardware id?
If it is only 1% from all hardware ids, I assume it is not a bad result.
What also could affect this:
1. Settings on the Registration Features - Hardware Lock panel. If you have only one item selected there, then duplicates could appear more often. I recommend to use the most common set of options on this page: "Hard Disk Serial + CPU + Windows Serial", this combination provides most unique Hardware ID in most cases
2. Sometimes, the hardware id could be the same because people run protected software under PC emulators/sandboxes, like VMWare, VirtualBox etc. To avoid that, you could use the option Checkup - Virtualization Tool to disable execution of file on such systems.
