Protecting Unity programs
Protecting Unity programs
Hey everyone,
I just downloaded Enigma, and I was trying to protect a unity application, but it fails to load after packaged into the .exe.
Anyone was able to protect unity programs using Enigma ?
Thanks

Re: Protecting Unity programs
Hi bubu2012,
Yes, Enigma Protector supports unity programs, we have tested it successfully with both x86 and x64 files.
If you can send me files that you try to protect - we will check them out.
Also, as far I remember, output file name (protected file) should be named same as non protected for unity programs. Try to rename protected file to see if this helps.

Thanks Enigma
That was it, I just tried with a smaller project, and it works.
I was wondering, is there a limit of files for this ?
I just tried with my main project , and it runs out of memory while making the package.
thanks,
Bruno

Re: Protecting Unity programs
Ah, so problems is that you have too much files under Virtual Box? And protection just fails to protect it?
There really is an issue that Enigma takes too much memory for Virtual Box while protection. I hope this will be solved in some future versions.
But for now, you can do the following.
1. Protect your main exe with Virtual Box, but add half of virtual files. Also, enable there Virtual Box - Packaging feature and add some package name.
2. Then, in Virtual Box - Packaging, create new package with second half of virtual files.
So you will have protected file + one package file.
Let me know if you need my help.

Re: Protecting Unity programs
I need your help
I can't get this to work.
I placed most of my files inside a package, saved it to disk, so I end up with this huge package, around 900mb.
Then, I add to the virtual file some files (mostly the .net obfuscated source code), and I'm able to build an .exe file.
Then, I copy this .exe file and the package file, put them all in the same folder, and when I run the executable, I get the "failed to load mono.dll" blabla, that we get when Unity can't access it's dll's.
What am I doing wrong ?
thanks

Re: Protecting Unity programs
Mm.. difficult to say, but, try to check the following:bubu2012 wrote:What am I doing wrong ?
1. The package file has the same name as you entered in Virtual Box - Packaging while protection of main exe.
2. Of course, make sure these files are located in same folder
3. In the Virtual Box - Options, enable the feature "Map file using temporary file".
If there will be no progress, maybe you can send this application to us, and we will make tests and write a tutorial for you with detailed instructions?
But as far as I know, Unity developers never had problems with Enigma..
Re: Protecting Unity programs
Hey Enigma,
I think I did all that.
If you guys don't mind taking a look at this, can you send me your email trough PM ?
thanks

Re: Protecting Unity programs
This problem is solved. It related to Enigma Virtual Box only. Enigma Protector does not have this problem.
