Have newly created files appear in custom directory?

hello,
I'm trying to use Virtual Box to containerize my installed games. For the most part it works as desired, but I'm having trouble dealing with game save data. Typically an installed game will have some user profile directory where it creates a save data file. I add this directory to the default folder of my boxed app, and I specify "New Files Become Real". My goal is to have the data file appear in the local app directory when it is created (or perhaps in some custom directory structure). However, the data file continues to appear in its original location, in the user profile directory where it initially appeared. This is a significant problem, since this prevents the boxed game from being truly portable. Please help!
