Complete Newbie

Post by RonM »

I have only just come across Enigma Virtual Box and am curious. I have used ThinApp and Turbo Studio in the past to create truly portable apps. Both of these effectively run the program in a sandbox which prevents it making any changes to the host system. Can Virtual Box do the same sort of thing - i.e. intercept all attempts to write to the host system and write these to defined and controlled addresses?

Sorry if this is a silly question!

Enigma Virtual Box is very similar to Thinapp and TurboStudio, but EVB is mainly for software developers, who knows what files application is using, what files it writes and so on.

It is possible to use Storage feature of EVB, this feature redirects write access to files on the disk, to files in storage folder. But this works only for folders that are specified at Files panel and if folder properties are set to "New files and folders become virtual".
