Virtualising exe file name?
Virtualising exe file name?
My application works only if it has original name. I virtualised it and it works fine until I rename it. I wonder if it could internally (I mean in boxed environment) run with original name (as it was packed), but externally it would have any name?
Re: Virtualising exe file name?
Hi mangomel,
But what stops you to rename virtualized file to the same name as original?
For example, if you select a file test.exe to virtualization, EVB automatically set packed one to test_boxed.exe. So after virtualization rename test_boxed.exe back to original test.exe
Or do you need a feature that will emulate original file name even if you rename file somehow?

Re: Virtualising exe file name?
Yes, I do. I tried to explain that but probably not so good."Or do you need a feature that will emulate original file name even if you rename file somehow?"
It's normal behavior that people rename application if it consist one file. For example, original name of the application must be my nick: mangomel.exe. But it tells nothing to user. User may want to rename it to: tool_for_doing_something.exe or just mangomel v.1.1 etc.
Re: Virtualising exe file name?
Yes, it is possible to do. Maybe it will appear in future version.
Re: Virtualising exe file name?
Even if I'm the first person who asked for this, there's surely more people who need it too.
So I'm happy to hear you'll think about it
Best regards,
Mangomel
